AWARE SHARK CONSERVATION

Do you love sharks? Are you scared of sharks? Do you want to know more? Enroll in the AWARE Shark Conservation course and discover the value of sharks to marine ecosystems and economies.

ABOUT

Students will learn more about the causes of declining shark populations and the actions required to become a knowledgeable and passionate shark defender.

Participants must be certified as a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver—12 years or older—in order to enroll in the AWARE Shark Conservation Diver Specialty course.

ACADEMIC

At the end of the classroom session and two open water dives, students will be able to explain:

  • The conservation status of sharks, why they are unique and vulnerable and the importance of healthy shark populations. 
  • How to manage threats to sharks, recognize the value of sharks and remove barriers to conservation.
  • Required actions to protect sharks 
  • How to seek out and join a global movement of divers who can help to protect sharks

COST

The cost is $595.00.

Price includes a 3-tank dive with Nitrox in Jupiter—where the shark population and variety of species are abundant.
