Immediately identify scuba diving illnesses treatable with emergency oxygen and be prepared to offer aid. There are no prerequisites or age restrictions. This course is open to everyone.

ABOUT

Knowing how and when to use emergency oxygen is a great skill to have—ready to help others when the need arises. A certified PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider knows how to identify scuba diving illnesses that are treatable with emergency oxygen and being prepared to offer aid.

Students will learn about dive injuries, different types of emergency oxygen equipment and safety considerations when using oxygen.

Students will practice the following:

  • Assembling and disassembling emergency oxygen equipment
  • Deploying a non-rebreather mask and a demand inhalator valve on a breathing diver
  • Using a pocket mask on a non-breathing diver

REQUIREMENTS

There are no prerequisites, age restrictions or water sessions required for this course. The course is open to everyone. Scuba divers, snorkelers and anyone who is around divers will benefit from this training.
